- Software-controlled smart feature
- High energy efficiency
- Many uses
The Snow Melting feature from Envo is a software-controlled smart feature using available sensors and automation together with Envo Edge Gateway in order to make existing snow melting systems smarter and more energy-efficient.
The algorithm in the feature replaces existing control using local automation and regulates heat dissipation based on a combination of temperature and weather trends. This means that the ground is clear of snow and ice with high energy efficiency.
Simple and functional
User interfaces, algorithms and uses
The user interfaces are web-based and include trends, status and configuration. The algorithms run locally in Edge Gateway.
Typical usage cases include pedestrian zones, loading ramps, parking spaces, entrances/exits to and from parking garages, pavements, stairs and more.
Reusing existing controls
If automation is already installed, this will be used as the starting point and will be connected to Envo Edge Gateway, which will take over control. In the event that new automation is required, Envo can offer suitable, cost-effective components.
The actuation of heat dissipation involves simple automation. The algorithms in Envo Edge Gateway take care of data collection, decision-making and advanced features.
Reusing existing local sensors
Usually, there will be no need to install additional sensors to detect precipitation, temperature and humidity. All systems, interfaces and protocols that are integrated with Envo Edge Gateway, and from which the status can be read, can be used.
Virtual or new sensors
If local sensors are not available, Envo can offer the use of virtual sensors, typically via our Met API integration, which provides weather data from the location closest to the building. Alternatively, we can assist you in selecting components that are cost-effective and suitable for the task and integrate these with Envo Edge Gateway.
